If you’re a fan of the blues, then you know that the hook is an important part of any good song. And if you’re a fan of Blues Traveler, then you know that they are masters of the hook. In fact, many of their most popular songs are built around catchy hooks that will stay stuck in your head for days.
So what makes a good hook? Well, it’s all about the melody and the lyrics. A hook should be easy to remember and sing along to, and it should have lyrics that are meaningful or funny or both.
Blues Traveler has plenty of great hooks in their catalog, but here are five of our favorites: 1. “Run-Around” – This is probably their most well-known song, and it’s all thanks to that unforgettable hook. The opening line (“Maybe I was wrong”) is simple but effective, and the rest of the lyrics are just as catchy.
It’s no wonder this one gets stuck in people’s heads all the time. 2. “Hook” – The title track from their fourth album is another earworm thanks to its memorable chorus (“I want my life to be like a never ending dream”). It’s also got some great guitar work from John Popper throughout.
3.”The Mountains Win Again” – This one has a more laid-back feel than some of their other hits, but that doesn’t make its hook any less catchy. The chorus (“And everything comes back to where it started once again”) is perfect for singing along to on a long car ride. 4.”But Anyway” – Another classic Blues Traveler tune with a killer hook (“Life goes on long after the thrill of living is gone”).
This one always gets people dancing whenever it comes on at a bar or party. 5.”Carolina Blues” – A slower number off their latest album Blow Up Dolls , but still with a great hook nonetheless (” Carolina blue skies look so pretty today”). This one will definitely get stuck in your head after just one listen .
So there you have it: five fantastic examples of Blues Traveler’s signature hooks . What’s your favorite?

Blues Traveler is an American rock band formed in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1987. The band’s music covers a wide range of genres, including blues rock, psychedelic rock, folk rock, soul, and Southern rock. They are known for their live performances and harmonica-driven sound.
The band’s name comes from lead singer and harmonica player John Popper’s love of the blues. He has said that the name was inspired by his friend Steve Bluesman Lawrence. The group originally featured three members: Popper, guitarist Chan Kinchla, and drummer Brendan Hill.
Bassist Bobby Sheehan joined the group in 1992. The band’s first album, self-titled Blues Traveler, was released in 1990 to little fanfare; however, it gained popularity after its release on compact disc in 1991. The album spawned the hit single “Run-Around”, which peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earned the band a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1996.
Since its inception, Blues Traveler has released thirteen studio albums (including two live albums) and one EP. The band has had several lineup changes over the years; however, Popper and Kinchla have remained constant members. Sheehan died unexpectedly of a heart attack at age 31 in 1999; he was replaced by Ben Wilson (who left the group in 2014).
Drummer Hill also left the group permanently in 2005 due to health issues; he was replaced by drumming legend Buddy Miles Jr., who passed away just months later due to congestive heart failure at age 60. Currently rounding out the lineup are bassist Tad Kinchla (Chan’s brother), keyboardist hookah-playing air connoisseur Ravitz brothers Brooks & Neal ,and drummer Shoreline Chedwick .

The Heart Brings You Back Lyrics
We all have that one song. The song that no matter what mood we are in, it can instantly change our emotions and bring us back to a specific memory in time. For me, that song is “The Heart Brings You Back” by JP Saxe.
This lyrics of this tune perfectly capture the feeling of nostalgia and longing for someone who is no longer in your life. Every time I hear this song, I’m transported back to my high school graduation night. My friends and I were gathered around a bonfire, sharing stories and laughing until the early hours of the morning.
Even though it’s been years since that night, hearing this song always brings back those same warm feelings of happiness and love. If you’re looking for a song to help you reminisce about good times gone by, or if you just need a pick-me-up on a tough day, give “The Heart Brings You Back” a listen.
